[ Hello, if you're here, this is a voice testing / general purpose meme thread post for Catra. Feel free to pick a prompt, or ask me to write something specific if you don't like any of the ones on offer. If your character is from a different canon, feel free to assume they're in a Basic Unspecified Dreamwidth JamJar Game unless you'd like to specify otherwise. ]

#1 - this is our "get along" shirt
[ Somewhere, somehow, you and Catra got handcuffed together. How? Up to you. Maybe you captured her for breaking the law and lost the key. Maybe they just magically appeared. Please do not make it a sex thing.

The handcuffs seemingly cannot be broken. You'll just have to learn to get along. This is not easy, however, when Catra is currently trying to claw them off with her free hand and dragging your hand along for the ride. Watch you don't get scratched. Those claws are sharp. ]

#2 - catty day care
[ Some idiot decided it was a good decision to have Catra babysit a bunch of toddlers. It is... not going well. To say the least. At least two appear to be trying to pull her tail, and one is crawling on her head and biting her ear. Catra is hissing mightily, tail as fluffed up as they come. ]

Listen up you bunch of emergency rations! [ Another one stands at her feet asking to be picked up, another one sitting at her feet and crying, another one wrapped around her leg like a koala. They seem to be taking no notice. ] Get off me! Get! Off!! I'll kill you!

#3 - steal
[ Whoever you are, where ever you are, Catra just swiped your drink, or the drink of someone else nearby you! (Let's be real, it was probably a kid.) Was it coffee? Tea? Cola? Slushie? It doesn't matter. She's merrily making her way away, off through the crowd, not making any attempt to hide or run. She sure is brazen. ]

#4 - snoop
[ Perhaps there's a rustle of leaves, or you see a telltale silhouette of ears in your periphery vision. Well, whatever it is you're doing, Catra is spying on or following you. Question is, what are you doing that deserves being snooped on? Or... were you just going about your everyday life, and Catra is just being a weirdo? ]

[ See, this is the downside of the Whispering Woods. You never know if that rustle of leaves over there is suspicious or just normal.

In this case, it's innocuous enough that Adora just shrugs it off. She'll arrive at her destination soon, anyway.

She has some questions for Light Hope, so she's headed toward the Crystal Castle as fast as she can. ]

[running to catch up, then skidding into a jog just aside of her, finger wagging right in Catra's face]

Yo! I dunno what's eating you, but that was a damn five year old, ain't you got any shame?

going to assume this is... season 2ish, if that's ok?

[ What are you up to, Adora? Whatever it is, Catra is determined to find out. She freezes as Adora pauses, but then Adora seems to shrug it off and keep going. That's right, Catra thinks. Lead me right to your little secret base. ]

[ Catra takes a large slurp of the slushie through the straw, the grin on her face evidence enough of the answer. ]

Hey, you snooze you lose. I don't make the rules.

Sure!

[ Soon enough, Adora has reached her destination. ]

Eternia.

[ That password again. She still has no idea what an Eternia is. Or a Grayskull. Or so many things.

The entrance opens before her. ]

Tch. C'mon, are you really that icy? Rotting out her kid's teeth is a sign of a mother's love, you really gonna take that away from her? At least steal from her mom instead ...!

[ The clearing in front of the castle where the trees stop make it difficult for Catra to follow Adora right up to the door. Instead she has to wait until Adora has passed through, and then try to make a dash for it before the door closes.

... Unfortunately, she just misses it, and runs face-first into the closed door, too fast to switch directions or stop in time.

CLANG. ]

[ Okay, THAT was definitely not normal. Adora stares at tht eentrance behind her. ]

Who's there?

If she really loved her, maybe she should teach her how to hold on to her drink properly, haha.

Is that so.

[ No answer, but there is a familiar-sounding groan of pain from the other side of the door. ]

[adoreher]

[ Oh. Yes. Definitely familiar. Adora rolls her eyes in turn. ]

Catra? What are you doing here?

Ah-- hey!

[ There's a real hiss and a mad scramble attempt to swipe it back from her. Ryuko please watch out for the... claws... ]

[ Oh god she is going to have the worst headache. Catra runs fast, she hit that door at some speed. She rubs her forehead gingerly before replying. ]

Running headfirst into doors, obviously. What does it look like?

[Ryuko dodges these swipes with the braggadocious ease of someone who's used to beating up random mobs of feral children for breakfast, a laughing smirk on her face as she slurps on the slushie herself.]

Maybe yours shoulda taught you how to do it too, hahhhh?

[then her face comically twists, as she holds the slushie out and away and to the side.] --huh, now don't get weird on me and go treating this like an indirect kiss or nothin'. I'm good on that front, alright?

[ She crosses her arms; never mind Catra can't see her. ]

You know that's not what I asked. Were you following me?

[ perhaps the drink was meant to be sniped. in fact, Loki doesn't make a move to take i back, instead he half turns to the culprit, legs elegantly crossed at the knee, and an elbow perched on the table. he leans his cheek into his knuckles and raises a dark brow, as if Catra has fallen into a trap.

enjoy your overproof Asgardian mead, Catra.

perhaps he's just going to watch and wait to see just what she does with it. ]

[ Without a hint of shame-- ]

[ She lets out a little mischievous chuckle. ]

Honestly... I can't believe you didn't notice! Time was, you would've spotted me hours ago. All that time with the Princesses... it must be turning you soft.

[ If nothing else, that makes Catra stop reaching for the slushie as she looks at Ryuko in surprise-- face comically puzzled. ]

... What? Gross. Who does that?

She starts raising the glass to her lips. ]

[ And, upon tasting, immediately gags and spits it back out, mead spraying everywhere.

She whirls back to Loki, face a mixture of rage and surprise. ]

Are you trying to poison me?! What is this?!

[humming, flicking her gaze thataway at nothing] Buncha stupid and self-involved no-good-for-nothing just plain weirdos, mostly ...

[then locking gaze with Catra again, smiling, open-mouthed, in an absolutely punchable cross between gormless sincerity and shit-eating sarcasm.] So you can't blame me for being cautious 'bout where your brain mighta gone, now can you?

Why would I poison it unless I was trying to poison myself? Generally one at least looks before they nab.

[ he leans in to secure dark nails around his glass again. ]
